The First Day of Summer
If I hadn't decided to stay
Then I wouldn't have bumped into you, accidentally spilling your drink
And if you hadn't been kind enough to forgive my obvious clumsy behavior
Then we wouldn't have met And later on, as we were joking about the invisible lines of fortune
We would sense all the eventualities we haven't lived
And we would jokingly yet truthfully fear what would happen if I hadn't spilled that drink
You are the only person with whom I can share this thought
Sometimes it's important to know that people breathe easier because of you
There is nothing more painful than watching you unable to see how beautiful you are
I appear in lives out of nowhere and my only gift is that I know when to disappear
If I hadn't decided to close the door slowly
Not to make any sound thinking you were still sleeping
Then you wouldn't have reached fast enough to prevent me from leaving
We've been here before
Saying goodbye to the first day of summer
